Nanotechnology
Nanoparticles are characterized by physical attributes, in vitro biological properties, and in vivo compatibility, using animal models. The time required to characterize nanomaterials from receipt through the in vivo phase is anticipated to be one year.
The assay cascade used for characterization was developed in collaboration with the National Institutes of Standards and Technology and the Food and Drug Administration.
